Meet Our Team

Our Instructor Staff consists of NRA Certified Instructors and also Instructors with law enforcement backgrounds and experience.

Bob Rich: Bob is a founder and owner of Delta Red Training Group, LLC. Bob has been a certified NRA rifle, pistol, and shotgun instructor for twenty years, and is an NRA Chief Range Safety officer. He is a graduate in multiple disciplines from Thunder Ranch and Gunsite, both world-renowned firearms training facilities.Bob is also a Texas concealed handgun instructor. He has completed the NRA Law Enforcement Precision Sniper Rifle course, studied various low light training methods, and completed the instructor program for the Sabre pepper gas Civilian Safety Awareness Program. Bob is a Benefactor Life member of the NRA.
Jerry Gordon: Jerry has been an active Hunter’s Safety Instructor and 4H Shooting Sports Leader since 1993. He has been a state peace officer since 1986, and a firearms instructor for the state for six years. For the last three years, he has served full time as the Firearms Coordinator/Instructor for a state wide training academy where he teaches Combat Pistol, Patrol Rifle, and Shotgun.Jerry has especially enjoyed introducing the young, or novice, and teaching them to become proficient and confident shooters. He strongly believes that by mastering the basic fundamentals of safe, effective gun handling and marksmanship through correct repetition, most any person can learn to handle a gun safely and shoot well.Some of Jerry’s training includes Fight for Life-Armatraining, Active Shooter-A.L.E.R.T., Patrol Rifle M4, Patrol Rifle Mini 14, TECLOSE Firearms Instructor, TECLOSE OC (Pepper Spray) Instructor, NRA Tactical Shooting instructor (Pistol and Carbine), Glock Armorer, M4 Armorer (Bushmaster), and AR15/M4 Armorer.
Michael Iles: Michael is a certified NRA pistol, rifle, and shotgun instructor. He has studied defensive firearms use for many years, having participated in over one hundred hours of training in pistol, revolver, shotgun, and rifle disciplines at the Texas Pistol Academy.
Mike McClung: Mike is a Certified NRA instructor in pistol, rifle, and shotgun, as well as being a Certified NRA Chief Range Safety Officer.  He is also a Texas Certified Concealed Handgun Instructor.  Mike is current and certified by the Red Cross in First Aid and CPR, as well as being a Certified Motorcycle Accident Scene Responder.Mike’s shooting career began at a young age with his dad and a Daisy BB Gun.  The Boy Scouts offered an opportunity to continue shooting and there he earned the Marksmanship Merit Badge.  His North Texas home area offered many hunting opportunities.  These shooting experiences ignited a passion for the shooting sports, defensive firearm training, reloading, and basic firearms troubleshooting and repair.
Greg McGregor: Greg is a certified Texas School Safety Course Instructor, NRA instructor for Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun; Texas License to Carry Instructor; and a certified USA Archery/NADA Basic Archery Instructor.  He served 28 years in the U.S. Army.  During this time, he maintained “Expert” ratings in pistol and rifle marksmanship and trained his soldiers to do the same.He started learning the principles of marksmanship as a first grader with a new “BB” gun but at age 23 Greg was able to train at Ft Benning alongside the Army Marksmanship Unit which ingrained long range rifle shooting skills.  Greg competed in the Combat Rifle Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) and High Power Rifle matches and scored 4th and 7threspectively.  While serving in Germany he earned the Gold German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency.  He continues to enjoy long range rifle shooting at Gateway Colorado’s  “Dynamite Shoots” where Greg has won numerous rounds. Greg has taught hundreds of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts the basics of marksmanship through archery, BB guns, .22 rifles and shotguns. He strongly believes that by mastering the basic fundamentals of safe, effective gun handling and marksmanship through correct repetition, most any person can learn to handle a gun safely and shoot well.  He loves to teach and is passionate about marksmanship and introducing people to the shooting sports.  He is also an NRA Life member.
John Rich: John has had a keen interest in firearms for most of his life. He has been familiar and comfortable operating firearms on a range from an early age. He has worked in the shooting industry and has experience with the assembly of AR platforms.John is a certified NRA pistol, rifle, and shotgun instructor. He is a life member of the NRA.
Ryan Taylor: Ryan has been a successful competitive shooter from the age of 8 years old through college.  He has won multiple IDPA State Championships as well as a National Championship.  He is currently training for the Olympics in International Skeet.Ryan travels all over the state providing firearms instruction to individuals and groups.  He has a real passion for teaching people of all ages how to shoot safely and confidently. He has a strong and ceaseless commitment to learn more and acquire new skills.Ryan is a Certified NRA instructor in pistol, rifle, and shotgun, as well as being a Certified NRA Chief Range Safety Officer.  Ryan is also a Texas Concealed Handgun Instructor.

Ryan’s Texas roots run very deep as his family is one of the two families who settled the Harper, Texas area before Texas became a nation.

Chad Thibodeaux: Chad has served 23 years in the U.S. Army and Texas Army National Guard, and remains on active duty. Chad has been a Preliminary Marksmanship Instructor (PMI) in both rifle and pistol, and he is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sniper School. Chad has had multiple deployments to Bosnia and Iraq, and has served as Company Level Sniper and Battalion Sniper Sustainment Senior Instructor. He is a top competitor in state Sniper competitions and in the U.S. Army National Sniper Competition at Camp Robinson, Arkansas, finishing first on multiple occasions. Chad is a native of Louisiana, where he has hunted small and medium game since childhood. Long range shooting is Chad’s passion, and that shows in his ability to relate with students both in the classroom and on the range.
